Define the term motivation
Motivation is the process what causes a person to act and to devote considerable effort to achieving something.
There are two factors that stimulate desire and drive in people, Intrinsic and Extrinsic.
Intrinsic (Internal) motivation comes from within a person, whether it is a voice in their head or the need for job satisfaction, this drives them to achieve a task.
Extrinsic (External) motivation is the process through which managers/others encourage employees/colleagues to be more productive. This can be achieved by providing targets and rewards for completing something.
As a result of suitable motivation, employees will perform and be more productive, more engaged and feel more devoted in their work.
